Bishop Graves to hold Town Hall Meeting

The district town hall meetings are part of an ongoing conversation concerning The Commission on A Way Forward and the called General Conference scheduled for February of 2019. The purpose of these gatherings is to bring clarity and answer questions around the three proposed plans coming from The Commission on A Way Forward to the 2019 General Conference. All interested United Methodists, both lay and clergy, are invited to attend a town hall meeting in their district.  He will hold the Mobile District Town Hall Meeting at Dauphin Way UMC on Sunday, October 14th at 3pm.

USA Wesley Welcomes New Director

We are very pleased to announce that Clay Smith has joined the USA Wesley Foundation team as the new campus director.  Clay was born in Dothan, Alabama.  He attended the University of Mobile, and graduated with degrees in History and Theology. Clay is also a certified teacher and has taught at two different secondary schools. After spending time as a youth minister Clay began to believe his real calling was to blend his two passions for the word of God and education. This passion led him to apply for the Campus Minister position at South Alabama. Clay is engaged to Lauren Ellison whom he plans to marry in October of this year.  Drop by USA Wesley and introduce yourself or send Clay a note of welcome to usawesley@gmail.com

New Semester Begins Soon for USA Wesley Foundation

Fall semester is on the horizon and the USA Wesley Foundation wants to continue the tradition of providing meals for students on Tuesday nights. We are seeking volunteers to help provide this meal.  This is an important time in the lives of these young students and what a great opportunity for you to show hospitality and get to know them as they grow in their relationship with Christ!  We expect to feed approximately 35-40 and Wesley will have paper products and drinks so you only need the meal. They especially love the deserts!! You are welcome to stay and eat with the students or you may simply drop off the food at the Wesley Foundation by 5:30pm. We have capabilities to heat/warm food if needed. Students really appreciate eating something that is homemade and also enjoy making connections with the people that support the ministry! This could be a great project for your Sunday School Class or small group within your church.

We still need to fill two weeks in September and November, three in October and one in December.  Please consider supporting the students of The Wesley Foundation and click here to sign up!

North Mobile Planning Council School Supply Drive

The North Mobile Planning Council collected school supplies for the Department of Human Resources at the July Singspiration. DHR is always so appreciative of help they receive for our area families. These supplies will be distributed to our local school children who need them. Thank you to the churches in the North Mobile District who supported our school supply drive.  Pictured is Rev. Braxton Eldridge of Ebenezer UMC and two of the DHR workers.
