Spring Hill College hosting a Methodist-Catholic Panel Discussion

Spring Hill College will be hosting a Methodist-Catholic panel discussion for the Mobile community on its campus. This is the first dialogue of its kind to happen in the area and is significant in that the panelists will be working with the official documents produced by the national and international dialogue commissions. The dialogue is geared towards laity from both denominations who do not know anything of the others beliefs or the dialogue that has been happening internationally for the past 50 years. Historically, Methodists were the first Protestants to enter the Catholic gulf coast, so this event will be significant not just for Methodist-Catholic relations, but for the overall Protestant-Catholic relationship in the Mobile community.

The event will be February 18th at 7pm in Byrne Memorial Hall.

The panelists will include:

  • Dr. Stephen Wilson, Spring Hill College
  • Fr. David J. Tokarz, Archdiocese of Mobile
  • Dr. Stephen Sours, Huntingdon College
  • Rev. Jeff Wilson, Dauphin Way UMC, Mobile, AL
