Coronavirus Update from Conference Office

March 12, 2020

All Alabama-West Florida Conference and District events are postponed as of today March 12, 2020, due to the threat of the coronavirus. We will reevaluate this guideline on April 1, 2020. At this time we are not making recommendations for local churches within this conference. We encourage churches to consult with your local authorities and school systems to decide what is best for holding worship services and congregational events.

Should you have questions about this announcement or need guidance in determining what is best for your church, please contact your District Superintendent.

The conference is praying for you, your loved ones and all affected by this outbreak.

Celebrate UMCOR Sunday

On March 22, our designated gifts benefit the ministry of the United Methodist Committee on Relief, offering the balm of Christ’s love to those impacted by crisis or chronic need.

As your congregation gathers on this Special Sunday, please encourage your members to give generously. These resources will help you plan a worship service that reminds members and visitors of God’s love for all people.

As you prepare for UMCOR Sunday this year, invite the Holy Spirit to stir your congregation to acts of compassion and caring. Remember the generations that have come before and rekindle God's gift within you. Pray for the people and ministries that will benefit because of your congregation’s generosity.
