Seminar on Mental Health

43.8 million adults experience mental illness in a given year. That means 1 in 5 adults in America experience a mental illness, and nearly 1 in 25 adults in America live with a serious mental illness. Yet nearly 60% of adults with a mental illness didn't receive mental health services in the previous year.

Chances are good that several of your church members experience mental illness themselves or have family members who do. The Church is very good about reaching out to people with cancer, surgeries, and other visible health conditions. But how is the Church reaching out to those with mental illness and helping them to feel welcome?

There will be a seminar on Mental Health held at The Vision Center at 4807 Princeton Drive, Mobile, AL on October 22, 2018, beginning at 6 PM.  During this time together we will learn more about mental illness and how the church can be better prepared to welcome and care for those with mental illness.  An optional dinner will be available for $10 beginning at 5:15. You must register for the meal by October 18. Click here to register.

This event is sponsored by the Conference Board of Church and Society.  For additional statistics on mental health, click here.
